Its been a while

I do have a lame excuse for not posting in so long. I've been either entertaining visitors or incapacitated by a rib injury. Either way, I did get up enough energy to decorate the house this weekend - just in time for our first significant snow fall. One of these years, I want to create a traffic-stopping display out front. Unfortunately, this isn't the year. I think it looks pretty good none the less.

Glad to see you back! Hope your recovery is coming along...the lights look great. Funny how the snow gives them that extra little oomph, no? Happy holidays!

Nice - I think subtle displays are always better than traffic-stoppers. It's a small step from a traffic-stopping display of lights to a 24' inflatable sleigh!

traffic stopping display??? please tell me that you're not one of those guys :)

I think that you guys always do a fine job in making your home feel oh so tis the season in an urban chic sort of way: not too much but very homey and comfortable, charming!

sorry to hear about the rib injury

What a great photo. I need a new camera because mine just cannot seem to take photos like that. Do you mind if I ask what kind of camera you use?

I like the display too!

Thanks for the nice comments on the lights. I use a digital Canon Power Shot A95. It's not a very fancy camera. I just get lucky every now and then. For this shot, I turned off the flash and just held the camera VERY steady.

Many of the best holiday displays are those that are NOT visible from outer space. You did a beautiful job.

I think folks have it wrong when I mentioned the traffic-stopping display. Though part of me does find it enticing to build a diorama of illuminated and animitronic stuffed animals, it actually isn't in my personality to do such a thing but we live on an extremely busy street where folks rarely obey the 30mph speed limit. My intent on doing such a display would be to, as the term says, stop traffic. Frankly, to get them to slow down a bit wouldn't be bad either.
