We have three lilacs in our yard. I've moved them around several times and will probably continue to do so until I find the right spot for them. I currently have two up front. One is a pinkish and one dark purple. We have one out back and it is a purple. They are all blooming right now. The pinkish one looks a little anemic, though it has a lot of flowers on it. The dark purple one has very few flowers and doesn't look too happy either. By far, the best one this year is the purple on out back.
Christine's Lilacs, in Winthrop, Maine. It has large impressive fragrant flowers. The plant is still only about 42 inches tall so it should be very impressive once it gets to a more full height. I went online to see what it would take to order others from Christine's Lilacs but her website is now down. I think I'll try and call one of the numbers tomorrow and see if they are still around. It would be too bad if they went out of business because they obviously have some very nice lilac varieties.
